5k for Wishes

Registration the morning of the event is available beginning at 6:30 a.m. at The Shoppes at Grand Prairie center court (near Bergner's). For day-of registration, tickets for the 5k run / walk will be $30 & the 200m dash will be $13. Please note, event t-shirts will not be guaranteed to day-of registration participants.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation is dedicated to making wishes come true for children with life-threatening illnesses. Come support the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Illinois by participating in our first ever 5k For Wishes event!

Ticket prices: 100% of the ticket prices will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Illinois. The fee is for the credit card processing and will go to the registration site, EventBrite.

Event times and details: This event will begin with the 5k (3.2 miles) Run / Walk around The Shoppes at Grand Prairie, and will be followed by a 200m Dash for Kids (ages 2 - 12 allowed to participate). All participants will receive a packet which will include an event t-shirt. Packet pick-up will begin at The Shoppes at Grand Prairie parking lot the morning of the event.

• Late Registration -- Starts at 6:30 a.m. (Pre-registration is strongly encouraged)
• Packet Pick-Up -- 7:30 - 7:50 a.m.
• 5k (3.2 miles) Run / Walk -- 8 - 10 a.m.
• Expo -- 9 a.m. - Noon
• 200m Dash for Kids -- 10:30 - 11 a.m.

Awards: The top three males and top three females of the 5k Run / Walk will receive an award for their top rankings. All children participating in the 200m Dash for Kids will receive ribbons.

After the event: After the run / walk and 200m dash, all participants will be able to enjoy snacks and beverages provided by our sponsors. The Shoppes at Grand Prairie will have a Wish Come True Expo and fun activities for children and adults.

Registration time frame: The pre-registration time frame, which is strongly recommended, is from July 1 - August 14, 2010. People who register by August 1 will be guaranteed the correct shirt size for the event. Extra shirts will be ordered, so anyone who registers up through August 14 should be able to receive a shirt, but shirt sizes are not guaranteed. Finally, anyone not pre-registering who signs up the day of the event is not guaranteed an event shirt. Also, please note, if you do not pre-register the prices of the event increase from $25 to $30 for the 5k Run / Walk and from $10 to $13 for the 200m Dash for Kids.

Pay by check: Some participants may not want to register through our secure online system, and that's OK! If this is the case, please print the Registration Form and mail it along with your check ($25 for each run / walk participant or $10 for each 200m Dash for Kids participants) to the following address:
